My recent trip to Istanbul was deeply inspirational and perspective-rocking. My mind spun as I discovered a hidden collection of completely unique design shops, effortlessly melding the antique and the modern in ways I had never imagined. (Email me for my list of favorite stores!) I couldn't get enough of the city: The colors, the fragrances, the passionate pace, and the intense history! Not to mention...the food, the facinating people, the rich mix of it all, and the details that make it so special. Design spanned from new revolutionary works at the Modern Museum, to the ancient Roman- built Basilica Cistern. During my stay, I became friends with an entrepreneurial couple who have renovated, designed and currently run the Hotel Ibrihim Pasha. I used this enchanting boutique hotel as the basis for my Surface Materials boards, on which I presented design for a hotel lobby with 75% green materials.
I hope you enjoy exploring my design collage, as much as I did creating it. Click on the images for larger, clearer images.
